  1. Strong correlation physics in transition metal oxides, including metal-insulator transition, orbital correlations, and spin-orbit coupling effects
  2. Growth of functional oxide interfaces using PLD and laser MBE, and their characterizations
  3. Electronic structure studies using angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and infrared/optical spectroscopies
  4. Physics and applications of ferroelectric thin films: domain dynamics, critical thickness limits, switching dynamics, and fundamental mechanisms of reliable FeRAM
  5. Physics and applications of resistance switching phenomena in oxides: fundamental mechanism, collective phenomena, and RRAM applications
